Only 19.4% of Mature Fields Professionals 'Fully Prepared' for the KP4 Audit

PRLog (Press Release)– Jul 01, 2011– A significant number of platforms in the UK sector of the North Sea are fast approaching or have already exceeded their original design life, typically specified as either 20 or 25 years. In fact, around half of the total population of fixed platforms on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) has passed its intended expiry date – and this proportion is steadily growing all the time.

Background to the KP4 Audit

Findings from past enforcement activity by the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) Offshore Division (OSD) have highlighted substantial shortcomings in the integrity management of North Sea infrastructure. Key Programme T dodge hree (KP3) – conducted between 2004 and 2007 – examined asset integrity with respect to major accident hazards.
