ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (April 26, 2011) – UMA Solar is proud to announce that it has received official NSF-61 certification for its Heliocol and SunStar solar collectors. NSF-61 certified panels meet the required health standards for drinking water applications. The official listing was recorded by the NSF on February 28, 2011.
NSF, or the National Sanitation Foundation, is an independent, non-profit organization that certifies products and writing standards for food, water and consumer goods. NSF-61 certification is granted following a detailed, seven-step process ensuring that the products do not leach contaminates into the water that would be a health concern. These contaminates include those regulated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and Health Canada, as well a buick s any other non-regulated compounds that may be of concern. Once products are certified and listed by the NSF, they are inspected and reviewed on an annual basis.

The NSF-61 certification was awarded to UMA Solar's manufacturing plant, Magen eco-ENERGY, authorizing the Heliocol and SunStar brands to bear the official NSF mark.
